Flotation equipment may help, but it does not replace following instructions or being honest about anxiety and ability.
A mask must fit, fins should be comfortable and unfamiliar equipment should be tested before the group leaves the boat. Mention prescription lenses or any medical concern to the operator in advance so it can explain what is possible within its service.
