Snorkelling in Rarotonga
Choose an area for the conditions and your ability, then plan the road journey without turning a location guide into a safety guarantee.

Useful information before you arrange the ride
Rarotonga snorkelling can range from an independently planned lagoon swim to a guided boat or shore experience. The safest choice depends on the day's weather, water movement, access rules, visibility and your swimming confidence. A place described online as calm or easy may not match conditions when you arrive.
KukiRides does not supervise snorkelling. We provide pre-booked transport to a confirmed activity meeting point or recognised road access. Use local signage, operator instructions and current advice for the water, and never interpret a transport page as permission to enter a particular site.
CHOOSING AN AREA
Match the plan to the day—not only the map
Wind direction, tide, recent rain and water movement can change comfort and visibility. Ask a responsible local source or activity provider about current conditions, and be prepared to choose a different day or guided format. Do not enter through private land or ignore marine-zone signs because a map result suggests a shortcut.
Use a buddy, identify the exit before entering and stay within your actual ability. If you are new to snorkelling, practise mask breathing and equipment fit in a controlled setting and consider professional guidance rather than drifting away from shore to follow other swimmers.
REEF CARE
Observe without standing, feeding or collecting
Coral and lagoon life are vulnerable to fins, feet and handling. Maintain buoyancy, avoid standing on reef, give wildlife space and take every item back with you. Follow posted rā'ui or marine-management rules and any instructions for the area.
Sun protection, drinking water, a secure mask, suitable fins and a bright rash layer can improve preparation, but equipment does not remove risk. Tell a guide about medical issues and never snorkel alone if conditions or confidence are uncertain.
ROAD CONNECTION
Arrive dry, leave time to change
A KukiRides pickup can remove the need to carry wet gear along the road or search for a taxi after a swim. Enter a confirmed meeting point, public access or operator location rather than a vague reef name.
For the ride back, choose a time after the activity ends so everyone can dry off and contain wet equipment. A van can help a larger group keep people and gear together; live pricing remains in the booking flow.
